Sports: Cave diving, riding the "Wave House" in San Diego, scuba, snorkeling, cave diving, body surfing, small wave kayaking, spear fishing, basically a lot of really fun water activities.

Surfing influences: The North Shore Boys, Kauai Boys, Big Island Boys, Maui Boys, Tahiti Boys, and anyone stepping it up in every size surf.

Contests: I'll be doing the 2007 WQS to gain points to compete in the Hawaii events, and I also qualified for the 2007 Pipeline Masters.

Stance: Goofy.

Car: 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 truck.

Quiver: Bushman surfboards from 6'2" - 8'2"

Girls: I like girls, women are cool too.

Travel destinations: Micronesia, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Tahiti, Australia, Mexico, Hawaiian Islands, Europe, Western Samoa, California and still counting.

Hometown: North Shore of Oahu.

Interests: Salt water aquariums, the ocean, and all of the worlds crazy creatures.

Music: Depends on the mood, I love it all.

Movies: Forrest Gump, Braveheart, The Exorcist, Wedding Crashers.

First time surfing pipeline: I wouldn't call it surfing pipeline, I was 14 and I paddled out a couple times with some friends when it was over 6 feet and watched from the channel, I'll never forget how scared I was when I realized I had to catch a wave to go in.

Why do I enjoy living on the north shore? The North Shore is a small unique place everyone in the world wants a piece of. Being born and raised here gives me a feeling of belonging. If you can get along and function properly in this small community, you have learned respect and a worldly wisdom that you can't acquire anywhere else. Practically everyone in the world comes to visit our home, or our backyard, and being young and already high up on the ruthless pecking order gives me a sense of accomplishment and the want to maintain and keep striving for the top, weather it's in or out of the water. The best thing about living on the North Shore is coming home to it.

Meat Pies and Bush Pigs

I've been turning 'Savage' in the land down unda' with the likes of Ezra Sitt, Chaz Chidester, Kevin Sullivan, Mikey Bruneau, Mason and Uncle Mike Ho, and the hospitable lads from this crazy place. Waves have varied from 1 foot and glassy, to 12 foot storm surf and everything in between. Scored the legendary and elusive North Point and the Box with 'minimal' crowds, making it possible for even myself to get some back side pig-dog time. good practice for me, especially since I only go left when I'm at home. I'll return shortly, with tales of 'Sheila's' and shelters in the Box hole. I hope all is well, and everyone is happy and healthy. Keep those Smiles going and glowing!

Still Going In the Monster Pipe Pro...

The Monster Energy Pipeline Pro was on today... It was held in some really bad conditions as the final deadline of the 9th is arriving quickly... During the holding period from Jan. 27th to Feb. 9th, there hadn't been many worthy days to run, today included, but it had to go... I advanced through two heats today in big, windy, lumpy, risky Pipeline, and I'm now in the round of 32, just before the quarter finals... This contest is the Hawaiians trials for the Pipeline Masters, and I guess to be a true Pipe Master, you must be able to surf Pipeline in all sizes and conditions.

Pipeline Awakens & Claims A Surfer's Life

Joaquin Velilla was one of the many surfers out in the Pipe line-up on the evening of the biggest and best Pipeline we've seen this winter. Unfortunately Joaquin didn't make it in that evening...the coast gaurd is still searching... He was a very friendly and respectful person with a deep passion for surfing. Our hearts go out to Joaquin and his family...

North Swell Non-Sense

After the biggest west swell of the winter came and cleaned the North Shore reefs from being covered by tons of sand, some north swells decided to roll through and bring it all back! The past few days have seen lots of wind, rain, and long peeling right handers due to the North Swell Non-Sense.

Clean Pipe

We finally got what we were waiting for all winter long: some good, clean Pipeline...After a couple of bottles of "draino storm surf clensing solution" the sand was off the reef and the north-west swells lined up for our pure enjoyment!
